What is the Political Courage Test?

Kentucky Congressional Election 2024 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
No Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade?
The overturning of the (1973) Roe V. Wade Supreme Court decision in June, 2022 was a full-scale, partisan, Republican attack against women's health and women's constitutional rights. If all abortions are made illegal in every state with no exceptions, thousands of women will die every year for lack of reproductive health care. The six woman-hating, Constitution-shredding, precedent-shredding, Republican "justices" on the US Supreme Court should be impeached and removed from the Supreme Court because they overturned Roe v. Wade for no valid or constitutional reason whatsoever - simply because they had the votes. I am a strong supporter of Planned Parenthood, and I will work hard to repeal every bit of national & state legislation the 100% immoral, woman-hating "Right-To-Life" political movement and the 100% immoral, woman-hating Republican Party have ever gotten passed.
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
No Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget?
Yes Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs?
The question, "Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget?" is absurd. All else being equal, decreasing income taxes makes the annual federal deficit worse. Please eliminate this question in future years. I strongly support a decrease in income taxes on poor, working-class and middle-class Americans and huge INCREASES in income taxes on billionaires, centi-millionaires, deci-millionaires and large corporations. I support a wealth tax that would make it impossible for any American citizen ever to have more than $900 million in total net assets. Why? Because billionaires inevitably acquire too much political power and control over the American government. The world would be a much better place if there were no billionaires in it and no way for any American ever to become one. I strongly support a wealth tax.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals?
I support strict limits on campaign contributions by all corporations and individuals. I have no problem with unions. All elections in America should be publicly funded. Ranked choice voting should be used in all primaries, and all primaries in all states should be closed primaries where no one may vote in any party's primary if they aren't a registered member of that party. Political spending should also be strictly limited. The Citizens United decision and all previous decisions that paved the way for it must be overturned by Congress. It is literally impossible to have a genuine democratic republic when Big Money determines the results of almost all elections.
No Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
The war budget and number of troops must be slashed by at least 75%. No US weapons should ever be exported to or based in any other country, which means that the military-industrial complex must be ended forever. All US bases outside the 50 states must be closed and the territory returned to the host countries. Obscenely high, out-of-control "defense" spending since WW2 ended in 1945 has damaged our republic terribly, possibly beyond reform or repair. America should never enter into any "entangling alliance" with any other country or group of countries. If America collapses and splits into two ot ten or 50 warring fiefdoms, the "defense" budget and all of our illegal, immoral wars since 1945 will be the main reason.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)?
Yes Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs?
Yes Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation?
I strongly support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth, including grants and tax incentives, but not spending on weapons and wars - unless the US is invaded by another country. The so-called "Federal" "Reserve" should be nationalized and all of its duties assumed by the US Treasury Department. America's housing crisis can be solved by prohibiting large corporations from ever owning more than a certain number of housing units; and/or by taxing them heavily if they own too many unoccupied ones.
Yes Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt?
Yes, and no huge bank or corporation should receive a penny in compensation. Credit unions and small-to-medium-sized local banks should be fully compensated.
Yes Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls?
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
No Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands?
I strongly support government funding for the development of energy efficiency in all sectors of the economy; and also low-head hydropower, solar heating, photovoltaic, wind, geothermal, and other renewable energy technologies. My professional career in Frankfort in the Energy and Environment Cabinet was devoted to expanding energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in Kentucky.
No Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)?
Yes Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All?
Yes Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)?
Yes Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs?
The entire pharmaceutical industry should be nationalized.
Yes Do you support increasing security along the southern US border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status?
If a person or family arrives at the border and has a legitimate fear of persecution, i.e., if they are political refugees seeking asylum, international law absolutely prohibits sending them back to their country of origin.
No Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts?
No Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine?
Every US military and economic intervention in other countries since 1945 has been massively illegal and immoral. The US has been the worst violator of the UN Charter and international law from 1947 to today - BY FAR - and all of these interventions have severely damaged America's reputation and soft power in the world. All US economic sanctions except those approved by the UN Security Council must be rescinded because all of them are illegal and immoral.
No Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)?
No. My party, the Democratic Party, has been even worse than the GOP in pressuring the biggest social media corporations to CENSOR OUR SPEECH AND VIOLATE THE FIRST AMENDMENT. The criminal Biden Regime is now being sued for that, and I hope the government pleads no contest and allows the court to stop all government censorship of social media. The regime must also end all of its prosecutions of Julian Assange, Chelsea Manning, Edward Snowden, and all other whistleblowers and journalists who have reported on US crimes.
1) My top priority is to establish a bedrock, inviolable principle in American politics: Every president who commits war crimes such as international aggression, international terrorism or genocide, or who changes the regime of any country, should be impeached and convicted QUICKLY. If the Vice President (now the new President) doesn't end all of our ongoing war crimes quickly, that person must QUICKLY be impeached and removed. Then the next war criminal president, then the next one and the next one and the next one and the next one and the next one - until the Deep State gets the message. 2) Bring all of our troops home to the 50 states, close all of our overseas bases, move all of our weapons back to the 50 states to defend our country, quit all of our entangling alliances, abolish the CIA, negotiate a worldwide, enforceable, permanent ban on nuclear weapons, and become a responsible, law-abiding member of the community of nations, as we were from about 1919 to about 1947. 3) Power to the People! Eliminate the ability of Big Money and the two dominant, 100% corrupt political parties to decide almost all of our elections. Put Wall Street - the biggest venture capital corporations and banks - out of business forever. Break up the biggest corporations and help small businesses expand and prosper. Reduce the power of the federal government and move many decisions (but not our civil rights protections!) back to the local and state levels. And STAMP OUT CORRUPTION everywhere it exists, which will require removing six of the nine members of the Supreme Court today: the six partisan, Constitution-shredding, Republican hacks who voted to overturn the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973.
